ABOUT THIS WEBINAR:

This webinar will answer the questions: (1) what is treatment planning and what are its purposes; (2) why perform treatment planning and its importance beyond any regulatory or reimbursement requirements; (3) when to do treatment planning; (4) with whom and; (5) how to do it efficiently and effectively? Case studies will be used to allow participants to identify assessment and treatment planning deficiencies. A model for dimensional assessment using the ASAM Criteria leading naturally to a treatment plan will be discussed. Emphasis will be placed on specificity and measurability of treatment plan objectives with a discussion of problem definition and selection. A system will be presented that guarantees the linkage between the assessment information, the treatment plan objectives and the progress notes.

ABOUT THE

PRESENTER: 

Gerald Shulman is a licensed clinical psychologist, Master Addiction Counselor, Fellow of the American College of Addiction Treatment Administrators and board certified by the American Academy of Psychologists Treating Addiction. He has been providing treatment, clinically or administratively supervising the delivery of care to alcoholics and drug addicts since 1962. Mr. Shulman has worked in public and private programs, proprietary and not-for-profit agencies in detoxification, rehabilitation and transitional care, in both inpatient and outpatient, in single and multi-site programs. He developed family, adolescent, older adult, dual diagnosis and cocaine programs. He is particularly interested in models that maximize treatment dollars.
