2015 FARR Summit
Significant legislation is underway that would cement eligibility for referral to certification of compliance with national standards. What does this mean to the licensed DCF SUT community?
The Florida Association of Recovery Residences is honored to once again hold our annual conference as a FADAA pre-conference workshop. This is an exciting time for recovery support providers. Real growth brings with it real responsibilities. Significant legislation is underway that would cement eligibility for referral to certification of compliance with national standards. What does this mean to the licensed DCF SUT community? How does it impact Level I, II, III and IV Recovery Residences? What exactly is a “Recovery Residence Administrator?” This and many other questions will be answered during our second annual conference. Additionally, FARR is proud to introduce these two nationally renowned leaders of the New Recovery Movement.

Building Recovery Ready Communities
John Shinholser will share the story of how The McShin Foundation successfully built a network of support services to benefit their community. Learn how recovery residences, SUT providers, coaches, mutual aid and faith-based societies came together to improve the health of their community. John Shinholser serves as the President of The McShin Foundation, which was founded in 2004 and operates on the founders’ belief that by helping others find and sustain recovery, they can better sustain their own recovery. Shinholser and McDaid decided to establish a non-profit recovery community resource foundation based on this belief and on the work Shinholser had been engaged in with individuals in the recovering community since 1982.
